Kingfish Tournament – Fernandina, Florida

Nassau Sport Fishing Association’s Kingfish Tournament of Champions
Challenging participants’ fishing prowess, one of the largest events on the Southern Kingfish Association tournament trail, the NSFA’s Tournament of Champions attracts the world’s best kingfish anglers to Amelia Island.

This year the anglers will compete for cash prizes totaling over $75,000. This three-day event includes a Saturday fish fry, awards ceremony – with free performance from The Finesse Band – and other festivities. The first day features a “behind the scenes” tour of the resort’s kitchens, including the pastry shop, butcher shop and garde manger kitchen, which gives the participants a glimpse into the inner workings of a 444-room resort and an understanding of the various responsibilities of the 45 member culinary team. Students then work with Chef Richard Gras and his team to prepare all the elements of a four-course luncheon, which is served family style and paired with a selection of fine wines.
