The 2008 Jacksonville Boat Show is, February 8-10, 2008 at the Prime Osborn Convention Center.Thirty of the region’s leading dealers will be on-site to showcase a multitude of boats featuring over 85 boat lines. Attendees will have the opportunity to see a large variety of marine products and services as well as hundred of boats all under one roof.Boating enthusiasts will agree that this Show has “something for everyone.†Kids can learn from fishing experts during the “Hook the Futures†Kids’ Fishing Clinic. Captain Don Dingman will teach the ethics and basics of fishing. Three thousand dollars worth of prizes will be given away at each clinic. Saturday, February 9: 11 am, 2pm, 4pm; Sunday, February 10; 1pm & 3pm.Jax4kids.com will host the Underwater Kids Pavilion where kids can create “make and take†crafts and other nautical themed games and activities. Visit the Waters Edge Mermaid from 1pm-3pm on Saturday. There will also be a special appearance by some of the Jacksonville Jaguar Cheerleaders from 2pm-4pm on Saturday and Sunday.Not only can families browse and buy, but they can also enjoy watching a unique celebrity appearance by “Twiggy†the waterskiing squirrel who has appeared on popular movies Anchorman and Dodgeball.On Saturday, February 9, Joe Thames will perform southern rock from 12pm-3pm and Mint Julep Band will perform classic rock tunes from 4pm-7pm. First Wednesday Art Walk – Jacksonville, Florida
The First Wednesday Art Walk in Downtown Jacksonville is a program developed and promoted by Downtown Vision, Inc. to bring citizens to the historical and cultural center of the city and to highlight Jacksonville’s deep pool of creative talent. There are several independent venues serving as galleries that feature local, original work. All locations are approximately within a 6 block radius of one another.
