Join a park ranger to learn about the species that inhabit the natural communities of the undeveloped barrier islands of northeast Florida. The program will take place at pavilion one on Little Talbot Island. No reservations are necessary and the program is free with regular park admission.

Amelia Island Songwriter Festival – Amelia Island, Florida

The Amelia Island Songwriter Festival offers a venue for undiscovered and newly discovered songwriters to gain exposure, network with other songwriters, and meet industry professionals. Attendees can also attend songwriting seminars and workshops designed to improve their songwriting skills. The festival takes place in a multitude of locations throughout the historic district of Fernandina Beach on beautiful Amelia Island. Boys Like Girls, Good Charlotte, Metro Station, The Maine

City of St Augustine 443rd Birthday Celebration

Put on your 16th century party hat and celebrate St. Augustine’s 443rd Birthday!
On Thursday
from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., the Native American village of Seloy (now the Fountain of Youth Archeological Park) will come alive with demonstrations of culture and lifestyles of the Timucua who had been living here for at least 500 years when the Spanish arrived in 1565. The Seminoles and other U.S. tribes that have been part of Florida’s history will also be represented. That evening, an Indian Pow Wow will honor the Native American traditions that are a part of the city’s history.

Barrier Islands – Jacksonville, Florida

Join one of our knowledgeable park rangers for an informative talk on the natural history of sea islands and their important role in coastal ecology on Saturday, August 16th at 11:00 a.m.. The topics addressed will include beach erosion, island migration, island formation and the natural communities present on such barrier islands today. The program will take place at the Bluffs pavilion on Big Talbot Island. No reservations are necessary and the program is free with $2 vehicle entrance fee.
