World Golf Village to Host Activities Celebrating 10-Year Anniversary

(May 13, 2008) – In celebration of World Golf Village’s 10th anniversary, the destination is offering a variety of activities for the public to enjoy.  Guests to World Golf Village can take advantage of activities celebrating the Village’s involvement in the community since its official opening May 19, 1998.

Through Sunday, May 18, the golf courses at World Golf Village, the Slammer & Squire and the King & Bear, will give special offers to the public including various “two-for-one’s” on the current golf rack rate, as well as on fountain drinks and draft beers in the clubhouse restaurants – Legends Grille and Champions Grille.

“Shine A Light” Opens May 9th – St Augustine, Florida

Audiences are in for a treat when one of the world’s best-known rock n’ roll bands unite to bring together an extraordinary musical film event, “Shine A Light.” Directed by Martin Scorsese, viewers can see The Rolling Stones as never seen before through footage filmed at New York City’s famed Beacon Theatre and more. Internationally Acclaimed Stars to Perform At Amelia Island Chamber Music Festival

Internationally acclaimed violinist Robert McDuffie will kick off the 2008 season of the Amelia Island Chamber Music Festival May 30, and a grand gala featuring the renowned American String Quartet will bring the Festival to a resounding conclusion on June 15 at the Ritz Carlton-Amelia Island. In between, area residents and visitors will delight to the music of such Amelia Island favorites as cellist Lynn Harrell, pianist Valentina Lisista and violinist Jennifer Koh.

Uptown Saturday Night – St Augustine, Florida

A favorite end-of-the-month event, Uptown Saturday Night takes place from 5pm to 9m the last Saturday of every month in the Uptown San Marco Shopping District, St. Augustine. Galleries, antique stores and unique shops between Ripley’s Museum and the Mission of Nombre de Dios remain open during this special time.
