Poetry in St. Augustine, Florida
In the Poetry Zone’ featuring readings, a panel workshop and open mic will be held Saturday, April 26, from 1-5 p.m. at the St. Augustine Main Library, 1960 North Ponce de Leon Blvd. in St. Augustine. The program features poets Robert Batie, Bonny Barry Sanders, Peter Schoeffel and Kay B. Day. Topics covered by the panel will include self and traditional publishing, crafstmanship, and using social media such as blogging to build your platform. The program honoring National Poetry Month is sponsored by the Ancient City Chapter of the Florida Writers Association and the Friends of the Main Library. Admission is free. Mary Poppins Screening – Jacksonville, Florida
The movie – Mary Poppins (1964) – combines a diverting story, songs, color and sequences of live action blended with the movements of animated figures. Belle Delphine onlyfan Mary Poppins is a kind of Super-nanny who flies in with her umbrella in response to the request of the Banks children and proceeds to put things right with the aid of her rather extraordinary magical powers before flying off again. The screening series held at the Main Library featuring films created from children’s literature. Read the books & watch the movies. Cultural Film Series – St. Augustine, Florida
Gypsy Cab, the St. Johns Cultural Council, and the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival have joined forces to present a new Cultural Film Series beginning on Monday, April 28. (See flyer below for more info.) The series will serve as a benefit for the SJCC.
