Amelia Island Film Festival Call for Submissions
Amelia Island Film Festival (AIFF) invites Film Submissions beginning February 1 through March 15, 2008. AIFF calls for Film Festival film submissions starting February 1, 2008 with a March 15, 2008 deadline. A total of over $5,000.00 in judged awards will be presented in 11 categories including Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Animation, Best Short, Best Documentary, Best Cinematography, Best Student Film, Best Non-English Film, Best Comedy/Farce, and Best Film About Amelia Island or of Local Interest to Northeast Florida & Southeast Georgia. New Gallery Reflects an Exhilarating Point of View – St Augustine, Florida

St. Augustine, Florida (February 2008) Conrad van Wyk, noted international architect, has opened his first art gallery on brick-paved Hypolita Street in St. Augustine, Florida. His large monochromatic black and white acrylic paintings adorn the walls of the new van Wyk Gallery, a handsome uncluttered studio in the Casa del Hildalgo – a building built by Spain in the 1960’s as the tourism office. Situated on the corner of famed St. George Street, the entire building surrounds a courtyard that is almost the center of the ancient city’s historic district.
