Bausch & Lomb Championships returns for 29th Consecutive Year. The championship is a premier women’s professional tennis tournament, part of the worldwide Sony Ericsson WTA Tour. In 2008, the tournament returns for a 29th consecutive year to the picturesque oceanfront resort of Amelia Island Plantation on Amelia Island, Florida. The tournament on April 7-13, 2008 will feature many of the top players and up-and-coming stars in the game, and is one of the most anticipated stops on the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour for both players and fans.

During the Australia Day Challenge,The British Leeds Rhinos met Australia’s South Sydney Rabbitohs at Hodges Stadium in Jacksonville, Florida. Co-owner of the Rabbitohs, actor Russell Crowe, was of course present, but he was far from the only celebrity at the rugby game. Despite the rainy weather, the stadium was packed. The fans got to experience an exciting game of world class rugby. The Rabbitohs had great support in the stands, but in the end the 2007 Super League Champions Leeds Rhinos won 26-24.

Jacksonville has a become an international hot spot this week. The two visiting rugby teams, Leeds Rhinos from UK and South Sydney Rabbitohs from Australia have arrived and with them lots of fans and media from all over the world.On Wednesday a press conference was held at the Jacksonville Landing in downtown. Both teams enjoyed lunch on board the yacht from Ginn Resorts before the press conference. South Sydney Rabbitohs Executive Chairman Peter Holmes a Court confirmed that his business partner, Russell Crowe, will attend the game on Saturday. But Russell Crowe is not going to be the only celebrity in town. The Teutuls from the TV series American Chopper will also be at the game to present their gift to Russell Crowe before kick off. Famous Australian golfer Greg Norman and his family will also be attending the game. 75% of the tickets to Saturday’s game are already sold.
