For more than a century, The Beaux’ Stratagem, written in 1707 by George Farquhar, was one of the most frequently performed English comedies, enjoying constant revivals. Recently rediscovered, this classic boasts an adaptation begun by Thornton Wilder and completed 65 years later by Tony Award-nominated playwright Ken Ludwig.

Kid Rock is ruling summer ‘08: His smash hit “All Summer Long†— which mashes up the super-familiar riffs of Lynyrd Skynryd’s “Sweet Home Alabama†and Warren Zevon’s “Werewolves of London†— has charted on rock, country, top 40 and adult-contemporary radio. Powered by the single, his album Rock N Roll Jesus — which came out way back in October 2007 — has been climbing the charts, selling over 1.3 million copies and landing at Number Four in late July.

It’s time for the Fall Art Festival in Amelia Island again. Local, regional and national artists are participating in this popular festival. They will line Centre Street in the Historic Downtown area of Fernandina Beach. This year’s poster artists is William Maurer, he’s a watercolor artist that paints many local scenes in the area.
