Manhattan Short Film Festival in Jacksonville

All festival attendees are asked to voted for ONE film. Votes are tallied by each host venue then emailed to NYC headquarters. The winning film is screened in Union Square Park on Sunday, September 28, at 9:15 p.m.

The 2008 MANHATTAN SHORT will be held across Europe, North, South Central America and Australia September 21 – 28.

St Augustine: Uptown Saturday Night – Sept 27th

This popular monthly event, Uptown Saturday Night takes place from 5pm to 9m the last Saturday of every month in the Uptown San Marco Shopping District in Saint Augustine, Florida. Galleries, antique stores and unique shops between Ripley’s Museum and the Mission of Nombre de Dios stay open during the event. Meet artists, listen to live music in a party-like atmosphere in downtown. The Mission of Nombre de Dios provides FREE PARKING for event goers. Call 904.824.3152 for more information.

Kid’s Saltwater Fishing Workshop – Palm Coast, Fl

A Florida Park Ranger will illustrate some of the techniques anglers use to catch fish and the importance of conservation and safety. Participants will learn to identify saltwater fish species commonly caught in this area, and will learn how to use a fishing rod & reel. Each workshop will be hands-on with participants fishing along the bank of the Intracoastal Waterway while applying their newly learned skills. All fishing gear will be furnished for each participant to use during the workshop, including complete rod & reel, fishing tackle and bait. This workshop is open for ages 8-15 years old and the fee is $20.00 per participant, which includes the park entrance fee.

GTM Research Reserve National Estuaries Day

Included in the festivities will be live animal presentations, touch tanks, kayak tour (reservations required), nature crafts for kids of all ages, estuary games and activities, and presentations throughout the day – some with live animals!
