CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Daniel Island community will showcase its civic pride and philanthropic spirit on Saturday, October 11 at its annual Park Day Festival. Now in its eighth year, this “day of giving” has become a fall tradition not to miss! Live musical performances, arts and crafts, sailing, garden clinics, an oyster roast, educational wildlife exhibitions, dog activities and more are among the activities that will take place along the banks of the Wando River. Returning again this year is the Charity Challenge, a competitive event that gives area businesses an excellent opportunity to show off their philanthropic spirit and team building skills in an exciting and entertaining field game competition. Park Day is a day of outdoor family fun that visitors of all ages can enjoy!

Patriots Point and Congressional Medal of Honor Society Sign New Five Year Agreement

CHARLESTON HARBOR, SOUTH CAROLINA – The Congressional Medal of Honor Society and the Patriots Point Development Authority have signed a five year extension of the license that ensures the Medal of Honor Museum and the offices of the Congressional Medal of Honor Society will be housed on board the aircraft carrier USS Yorktown at Patriots Point .

Quilts In Bloom at The Charleston Museum – South Carolina

If you are interested in quilting and quilts, this exhibit will be a great inspiration for new ideas.
As part of an ongoing rotation of quilts from the Charleston Museum’s permanent textile collection, the Museum has eleven new quilts on exhibit. Spanning over 150 years of Charleston quiltmaking, each piece offers a unique interpretation of a floral theme. Nature was a constant source of inspiration for quilters, and especially Charleston quilters. All types of flowers became the subject of quilt patterns – pieced, appliquéd and embroidered.
