God Bless the Child – a Jazz Homecoming in Charleston, S.C.

If you haven’t already bought tickets, we’d like to remind you about “God Bless The Child: A Jazz Homecoming” at 8:00 P.M. on Sunday, November 18 at the Charleston Visitors Center. All proceeds go to The Jenkins Institute for Children, which has been helping Charleston’s neediest children for over 115 years.

The concert features Quentin Baxter and the Franklin Street Five, with special guest star Alphonse Mouzon. The concert date is drawing near and we hope you’ll be able to attend. Tickets are just $25 and are on sale at the show. For advance tickets and more information, call 843-744-1771.

During the Christmas Made in the South festival you will meet amazing craftspeople, have the opportunity to look at arts and crafts, unique gourmet food. At the festival you’ll find handmade, one-of-a-kind designs from leather and silk wearables to fabric bags, dichroic glass jewelry to close-up photography.

28th Annual Charleston Parade of Boats – Charleston, South Carolina

Get on board with a Lowcountry holiday tradition as this display of lighted and festive boats proceeds from the Cooper River, through the Charleston Harbor and into the Ashley River, culminating in a brilliant fireworks display over the harbor. View the procession along Charleston’s waterfront or decorate your own boat and join the parade. Info: call 843-724-7305. Parade begins along Mt. Broad Street’s Gallery Row Begins second year of Late Night Fridays – Charleston, S.C.

Broad Street is home to the largest number of unique galleries in Charleston, featuring one-of-a-kind artwork, pottery and sculpture from all over the world. “We’re proud of our unique galleries and shops”, said Mary Phelps of Coco Vivo. “Late Night Fridays on Gallery Row provides us with an opportunity to meet customers and clients who may be on their way to dinner or who have just checked in to their hotels and would like to do some shopping after normal business hours. We can offer guests a glass of fine wine and a little leisurely view of what each gallery features. It also gives us a chance to see some of our local clientele who are working during our regular business hours and can’t get down to Broad Street to see us.”

After last year’s successful run from mid-November through the first week of January, the decision was made to begin Late Night Fridays beginning in October. Broad Street’s participating shops and galleries will be open and serving wine and other refreshments from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. each and every Friday from October 5th until January 4th. Each participating gallery will be featuring one of the fine wines available at Jake’s on Broad, and that wine will change weekly. For more information, you can contact us at 800-436-1272.
