Changes Ahead – New Steeple Planned – Charleston, SC

A new church steeple is coming to Charleston to change the skyline reports The Post and Courier today. The city’s skyline has always been dominated by steeples, so this is a positive change when the Cathedral of St John at 122 Broad Street will add a steeple.

Quilt Festival – Hilton Head, South Carolina

 This biennial quilt festival features 150 beautiful quilts, a silent auction, consignments, vendors and an opportunity to win a quilt. It takes place March 14-15, 2008, so mark your calendars. This is a judged exhibition of quilts created by our local quilt artists.  See why quilt art has skyrocketed in popularity, and enjoy traditional quilt art.  The workmanship and creativity incorporated into these quilts is well worth the trip. Joseph Manigault House – Charleston, SC

The Charleston Museum presents the Joseph Manigault House, which will be decorated for the holidays. Each year, the Garden Club of Charleston uses this magnificent house as a backdrop for their creative arrangements, using only live plant materials that would have been available in the Lowcountry during the first quarter of the 19th century. Visitors may view the holiday decorations as part of the regular public tour. Limited parking is available in the Museum lot across the street. 350 Meeting St. Mon. – Sat. from 10a.m. – 5p.m. and Sun. from 1p.m. – 5p.m. until December 31st, tours on the hour and half hour. $10 adults / $5 children (3-12) / free for children under 3 and Museum members. A Child’s Christmas in Wales – Charleston, SC

The Actors’ Theatre of South Carolina presents “A Child’s Christmas in Wales.” This is a Dylan Thomas classic memoir starring film, TV and theatre veteran Clarence Felder, and members of the Chamber Music Charleston.
