Red, White and Blue on the Green – Summerville, SC

Hosted by Summerville D.R.E.A.M., the Red, White and Blue on the Green is Summerville’s Fourth of July Celebration complete with games, activities, contests and good old fashioned fun. This year’s festival will be held on Friday, July 4 from 4 to 7 p.m. in Downtown Summerville. Booths and activities include a watermelon eating contest, a seed spittin’ contest (yes, your mother might let you spit just this once), a hot dog eating contest, jump castles, dunking booths with your favorite local celebrities and tons of summer-time concessions! First Fridays on Broad in Charleston, SC

The first Friday of every month shops on Broad Street’s Gallery Row stay open late. Each First Friday on Broad will have a theme. Some of the galleries will have special artwork, sales or promotions during the First Friday event. Many participating galleries offer wine and cheese and other h’ors d’Å“uvres to visitors.
First Fridays starts at 5:00 p.m. in the evening and continues until 7:00 p.m., some galleries are even open even later.
