The Great Southern Tailgate Cook-off , Amelia Island, Florida
Barbeque and football go together often more successfully than love and marriage. Amelia Island is taking this to heart by again organizing the  3rd Annual Great Southern Tailgate Cook-Off to be held August 24 – 25, 2012 at the Main Beach on Amelia Island, Florida. This is where the rubber meets the road, or like the slogan goes; the brisket meets the beach.
The cook-off will feature professional BBQ teams as well as backyard (amateur) teams. Â Several of the professional teams are among the top teams in the country. Â Each team will prepare a variety of barbeque entrees as they compete for more than $20,000 in prize money and trophies.Â
