The Rock Shrimp Festival in St Marys, Georgia, is always held on the first Saturday in October in historic downtown. The festival is organized by the Kiwanis Club. This year it’s the 39th Annual Rock Shrimp Festival scheduled for October 6, 2013.
St Marys Rock Shrimp festival celebrates this special kind of shrimp found in Georgia’s coastal waters. The delicious rock shrimp looks almost like a tiny lobster and its taste is somewhere between shrimp and lobster.
In the morning there will be a pancake breakfast at the waterfront from 7:30 to 9:30. The 5k and 10k runs will also take place in the morning. Â The parade begins at 10:00 a.m.
