We enjoy walking on the beaches of Jekyll Island, even in the winter time. The air is fresh, and the light this time of year is spectacular. But did you know that you can also go treasure hunting on the beach during the winter months?
From January 1, 2011 to February 28, 2011 you can gather up a your family or a group of friends and go treasure hunting on Jekyll Island. Every year Jekyll Island commissions a group of highly skilled artisans from across the country to create a variety of handworked glass globes. During the two month long program “Island Treasures”, these floats are hidden along the beaches of the island for lucky visitors to find. Maybe this year, you’ll be one of the lucky ones.
