Every week we post an episode of the series to Coastalcompanion.com to help you and your family find things to do on the coast of South Carolina, Georgia and Northeast Florida.
What everyone always asks is how do I pick events for the show?
All I can say is “very carefullyâ€.
Actually we have a team of event experts who in detail investigate all events on the coast from Myrtle Beach in the north to St Augustine in the South and come up with a spreadsheet of possible candidates for the show. All the data is then analyzed in the computer. I and the editorial staff lock ourselves in a conference room at a fancy hotel on a coastal island. We have no contact with the outside world – no cell phones, no internet – and we deliberate for days. Nobody is allowed to leave the room until we are finished.
Sorry, I just couldn’t resist.
Actually the topics are pretty much made by yours truly, and just so you know, I can be bribed. Food is always good, especially good local seafood or a good bottle of wine……but now I’m getting carried away.
Most of the time I am influenced by my interests; gardening, art, good food, women…
