It has been a hot summer this year. Humans are able to escape from the heat and cool off at beaches and waterparks in our area. But what about man’s best friend? He is usually not that lucky, but that’s about to change.
Whirlin’ Waters Adventure Waterpark Goes to the Dogs
On Sunday, September 11, 2011, dogs in the Charleston area will get their day at the waterpark at the 3rd Annual Dog Day Afternoon! On that special day, Whirlin’ Waters Adventure Waterpark at North Charleston Wannamaker County Park opens its doors to canines, and the waterpark will truly “go to the dogs.â€
Large dogs can romp around in the 27,000-sq. ft. Big Kahuna wave pool, while their smaller counterparts can make a splash in the refreshing Otter Bay kiddie pool. To be fair to these special canine guests, owners will not be allowed in the water.
Pay for a Doggie Paddle
Food and beverages will be available for purchase to cool down the humans at the park’s concession stands. Advance admission is $10 per dog ($8 per Charleston County dog) and owners are free with their pets.
Tickets are limited, so get yours early. If available, tickets sold on the day of the event will be $10. Proof of your dog’s current vaccinations is required for entry to the event.
