Memorial Day Weekend Parade

Starting at 27th N. and heads south to 9th Ave. N.
Myrtle Beach’s Memorial Day Weekend Parade 2011 promises to be bigger and better than ever with lots of exciting parade floats, colorful balloons and music!
The parade Grand Marshal 2011 is no other than U.S. Senator, John McCain.
Sun Fun Festival Kick Off

Downtown Myrtle Beach, between 8th and 9th Ave. N.
Right after the Memorial Day Weekend Parade it’s time to kick off the 60th Annual Sun Fun Festival. You will have the opportunity to meet ‘n greets stars and celebrities or watch live performances by various Disney® and Nickelodeon® stars! In addition to all the great talent, there will be food, arts and crafts vendors, and an array of military appreciation activities and displays.

May 25-27, 2011 : Traveling Vietnam Memorial Wall
Exhibit of The Wall That Heals, a half-scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., designed to travel to communities throughout the United States.
The Memorial Wall Exhibit is located in downtown Myrtle Beach, between 8th & 9th Ave. N.
Sunday, May 29, 2011 – 5K Run/Walk
5K Run/Walk starts at 8:00 a.m. in Grand Park, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. (Wheelchairs start at 7:55 a.m.) Enjoy a morning run, jog or walk around The Market Common and Grand Park. starting at Crabtree Memorial Gym.
This is a free event for active duty, reserves and veterans. $20 for civilians.
