This self-guided, self-paced event will allow you to tour all seven decorated bed and breakfast inns while sampling mouth-watering cookies, and then take the recipes home with you in time for your holiday baking inspiration. Christmas Tree Lighting & Character Dinner – Amelia Island, FL
At 5:30 p.m. the Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island will hold their Annual Christmas Tree Lighting, complete with refreshments, music and of course a visit by Santa Claus. The celebration will be followed by a Holiday Character Dinner with Santa at 6:30 p.m., elves reindeer and other holiday characters in a dinner certain to entertain the entire family. Join Wild Amelia for a look at the stars. The evening will include a star talk and the opportuinity to observe the stars up close through telescopes. The program will take place at Fort Clinch State Park at 7 p.m. The program fee is $5.00 per person and no reservations are necessary. Be sure to bring your flashlight and bug spray. Secrets of the Salt Marsh – Amelia Island, FL
Join a park ranger and discover the importance of estuarine systems that surround the inshore sides of barrier islands like those of the Talbot Islands State Parks complex. This ranger-guided hike along the salt marsh will help point out why these areas are one of the most productive ecosystems on Earth, the many roles the salt marsh plays, the plant and animal life found in this natural community, and the impacts humans have on this system. This program will take place at the Ribault Club on Fort George Island Cultural State Park. No reservations are necessary and the program is free.
