Rise & Shine for our annual fun run/walk on the beach! Get your workout in before the turkey eating & football watching! Registration begins at 8am at the Night Heron/Mariners Watch beach access point at Boardwalk 18.
This race offers a one-mile walk or a one to three mile run on the beach for families, beginners or competitive runners. The race begins promptly at 8:30am. All participants receive a raffle ticket for a prize drawing that will be held at 9:05am at the race start/finish line! Coffee will be provided at registration. Registration is complimentary.
The Beach Music and Shag Preservation Society of South Carolina a non profit 501-c organization presents to the Lowcountry the 50th Golden Anniversary for Maurice Williams and the Zodiacs.The event will take place at the Charleston Music Hall at 37 John Street Charleston, South Carolina, 29403.  The website for the Music Hall is www.charlestonmusichall.com.  Tickets are available at www.etix.com
Also performing in addition to  Maurice Williams and the Zodiacs are Billy Scott and the Party Prophets, Clifford Curry, and Unison.

The Charleston Out of the Darkness Community Walk is a short scenic walk taking place to help fund research, education, and survivor and awareness programs in the local community. This event will start at 1pm with registration, followed by a short program honoring those that have been lost to suicide and the loved ones that have been left behind by this tragedy. Proceeds will go to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. Music, Information booths, speakers and a Memory Board will be available before and after the walk. Participants can bring a photo for the memory board.

It’s completely free to participate in the walk. If desired, walkers can raise funds that will benefit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. Registration & check-in will begin at 1 pm, program starts at 1:30 and the walk begins at 2:00pm. The event will conclude after one lap around Hampton Park with a short ceremony.
Charleston Tea Plantation is having a 5K Memorial Run/Walk to memorialize Theodorsa “Faye†Mitchell. She was born and lived her life on Wadmalaw Island, was a faithful church member and respected throughout the Wadmalaw community. She was employed for many years at the Charleston Tea Plantation. Ms. Faye died of lung cancer on September 23, 2006 while being treated at MUSC. We wish to donate funds raised on her behalf to MUSC for lung cancer research. We know the Wadmalaw Island residence will rally behind our efforts on Faye’s behalf. If you have any additional questions please call 843-559-0383 and ask for Stephen Fernandez.
