Coastal Empire Fair – Savannah, GA

November 2, 2009 by Susanne Talentino

It’s the last weekend of the Coastal Empire Fair in Savannah, so don’t miss out. There’s a lot to see and to do for the whole family, from cattle and goat live competition to racing pigs, clowns, rides and much more.

There’s an impressive line up of shows for this year’s fair, which include everything from animals to death defying stunts. An all time favorite with the younger crowd is of course the many rides provided by North American Midway.

Savannah Record and Zine Fair

October 6, 2009 by Susanne Talentino

The Savannah College of Art and Design’s SCAD Radio and District present the third annual “Savannah Record and Zine Fair” on Oct. 24, 2009, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. at the River Club, 3 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.

“For one day, we are happy to provide students and community members with a chance to dig through the crates and find cool music,” said Caila Brown, SCAD Radio general manager. “It will be a big day for collectors. We are also excited about bringing in the Zine Fair this year, as that event has been successful in the past. We anticipate a nice mix of people looking for music and folks who are into independent publishing.”

Dealers from around the Southeast will offer vinyl records, CDs, DVDs and music memorabilia. This year, the record fair has expanded to include comics, “‘zines” and other independent publications. To register to have a record table at the event, visit www.savannahrecordfair.com and fill out the registration form. To register to have a zine table at the event, visit www.scaddistrict.com and click on the Zine Fair banner.

Vendor tables are available for $35 for the general public, $15 for SCAD staff, faculty and alumni, and free for SCAD students. Admission is free and open to the public. All proceeds from table rentals benefit the noncommercial operation of SCAD Radio and District.
