Bill Maher has many talent. He is known as stand-up comedian, television host, political commentator, author and actor. Before his role as the host of HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maher, Maher hosted a similar late-night talk show called Politically Incorrect originally on Comedy Central and later on ABC. He even has his own star on Hollywood Boulevard’s Walk of Fame star which he received on September 14, 2010. Unlike most successful blues-rock guitarists, Bonamassa has cited his influences as being British and Irish blues music, rather than American. Bonamassa’s solo début, in 2000, was his Top 10 Blues disc A New Day Yesterday, named after the 1969 Jethro Tull classic. Now this famous guitarist is coming to Jacksonville for a performance at the Florida Theatre on December 3, 2010.

Black Crowes performs on the coast
The Black Crowes has sold over 30 million albums.In 1990, the readers of Rolling Stone voted them ‘Best New American Band’. The band has opened for rock and roll bands such as Heart, Robert Plant, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, the Dave Matthews Band and The Grateful Dead.The Black Crowes is also listed at number 92 on VH1’s “100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock”. Now the legendary rock n’ roll band is coming to the coast. First up – Charleston, SC, then Myrtle Beach and Jacksonville, Florida.

Rocky Horror in Jacksonville, Fl 2009
The cult classic, Rocky Horror Picture Show, will be screened at The Florida Theatre on Friday, October 17, 2009 at midnight.
In the spirit of the movie, there will be a lively street festival on Forsyth Street outside the theater not to be missed. The street festival starts at 8 p.m. The Rocky Horror Tribute Band, a costume contest, food, beverages and fun will all be part of this “strange journeyâ€. Plan to spend a fun evening in Jacksonville for the Rocky Horror experience.
Live the Movie
The Rocky Horror Tribute Band will perform from 8 p.m. to midnight. Cast members will also perform famous dance numbers from the film and you will get the opportunity to do the ‘Time Warp’ . There is a costume contest, so plan to dress up as your favorite movie character for a chance to win prizes and premier seating. The costume contest starts at 9 p.m.
Tickets to the screening is limited and it is first come, first seated. To be guaranteed a seat, make sure to buy your tickets in advance. Doors to the theater open at 11 p.m. and tickets are on sale now at the City of Jacksonville Office of Special Events, Monday through Friday 8 a.m.-5 p.m. and The Florida Theatre Box Office, Monday through Friday 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Tickets will also be on sale day of show at The Florida Theatre beginning at 10 a.m. Tickets are $5.00.
Bring Your Props and “Say Itâ€
The City of Jacksonville also offers a “Say it!†with props. Prop packages are sold for $15.00 day of show only. Movie fans are also encouraged to bring their own props to participate. Accepted props include rice; newspapers; water pistols; flashlights and glow sticks; rubber gloves; noisemakers, confetti, toilet paper, toast, party hats, bells or keys; and cards.
