Jazz Fest at St Augustine Beach

This year St Augustine Beach turns fifty and puts on a great party with lots of different events. the Jazz Fest is part of the birthday celebration.

You can enjoy live jazz music on Saturday Sept 26th and Sunday Sept 27th. Local and regional musicians will perform at the Pavilion at the Beach. There will be lots of food, music and most of all fun for the whole family and remember, this is a free concert, so you have no excuses for missing out.

The event takes place At St. Augustine Beach Pier Park, A1A Beach Boulevard, on Saturday from 1 pm to 9 pm, and on Sunday from 2 pm to 6 pm St. Augustine Beach, FL

Dance the Night Away in Fernandina Beach, Amelia Island

It’s the week of firsts and that means time to head to downtown Fernandina Beach for Sounds on Centre. Fernandina is always a pleasure to visit, and even more so when there’s a free concert outdoors.

Sounds on Centre is held the first Friday of every month through October in the historic downtown on Centre Street (between 2nd and Front) from 6 to 8 p.m.

Summer Jazz Series at Sea Walk Pavilion – Jacksonville, Florida

The 2nd concert of the Jacksonville Beach Summer Jazz Series is scheduled for Sunday, July 12 starting at 5:00 p.m. at the Sea Walk Pavilion. Headlining is Eric Darius, nationally renowned Tampa based jazz saxophonist, at 7:30 p.m. The Toronto electro jazz group, Four 80 East, with special guest Shilts, Paul Weimar, from London and a former member of Down-to-the-Bone, performs at 6.00 pm. The local favorite C1Jazz will kick things off at 5 p.m.

The next Summer Jazz concert is scheduled for August 9.
These concerts are free. Just bring your blanket or lawn chair and all your friends and plan for an cool, relaxing evening under the stars.

U.S. Air Force Heritage Aire Celtic Ensemble in Downtown Summerville

Friday June 12th at 6 p.m. there is a free concert in Town Square featuring The U.S. Air Force Heritage Aire Celtic Ensemble. The Celtic Ensemble will delight crowds with a blend of contemporary music and traditional Celtic music. Performing on traditional instruments such as the Irish flute, tin whistles, button accordion and bodhran, the Celtic Ensemble is famous for their stunning musical talents.
The group recently deployed to the CENTAF area of responsibility and performed 60 concerts in 55 days around Southwest Asia and the Horn of Africa. As members of the CENTAF Band, the group raised the spirits of Joint Force members and coalition partners serving in the Global War on Terrorism. They also supported humanitarian efforts, bridging cultural divides and easing tensions with foreign nations through music.

This is the third year Summerville has hosted the U.S. Air Force musicians and Summerville D.R.E.A.M. plans to make it a permanent annual event.

Bring a blanket or chairs and enjoy music amidst the ambiance of Historic Downtown Summerville.

Free Jazz Concert in Savannah with University of West Georgia Jazz Ensemble

The Jazz Ensemble will present a free concert at the Jewish Educational Alliance (5111 Abercorn Street) at 1:30 PM on Thursday, May 15th. The University of West Georgia Jazz Ensemble is a big band of nineteen musicians under the direction of Dr. Daniel Bakos, professor of music at UWG (Carrollton). The ensemble performs big band jazz music of famous and historic bands such as Count Basie, Buddy Rich, Duke Ellington, Stand Kenton and more contemporary works from as Tom Kubis, Lew Anderson, John Fedchock, and others. Chris Vadala, Vince DiMartino, Bobby Shew, Marvin Stamm, Lew Soloff, Joe Temperly, Rob McConnell, and Gary Foster are some of the well-known musicians who have played with the ensemble.
West Georgia Jazz Ensemble

The ensemble performs extensively throughout the Southeast, toured Europe 2001, and currently is looking toward a second European tour. The jazz ensemble hosts the annual Sunbelt Jazz Festival during April.

The event is free and the public is encouraged to attend.

Attend and listen to works such as an arrangement of Dancing in the Dark for the Stan Kenton Band by Gerry Milligan, Stella by Starlight, Free Beer, Uno Mas, Sister Sadie, Blues Down to the Shues, and others. See you there!
