Holiday Fun on Saturday December 6th in Charleston, SC

Turn this Saturday December 6th into an action-packed, all out holiday extravaganza in Charleston. Start off the holiday season at Marion Square with a holiday farmers market, visit with Santa, Tree Lighting Ceremony and follow it up with a traditional boat parade and fireworks. It’ll be a full day of holiday fun for the whole family.
Maybe you could even pack a picnic and bring a thermos of hot cocoa for the kids for the boat parade!

Holiday Farmers Market & Visits with Santa
Start out the weekend with a visit at the Farmers Markets at Marion Square.
Here you’ll find everything you need to decorate for the holidays, and a lot of other goodies. Natural wreaths, fresh greenery, special breads and baked goods, Christmas cookies, and of course fresh vegetables. There are also plenty of arts and crafts and beautiful handmade items. Maybe you could find that perfect gift. It’s also a perfect place to find a great breakfast or lunch.

This time of year you can enjoy special entertainment at Marion Square with children’s choirs, church choirs, gospel, classical, folk, storytelling, and other entertainment audiences at Marion Square.
Your kids can bring their wish lists to the North Pole mailbox and visit with Santa, Mrs. Claus, and their Elf assistants in the magically decorated park.

City of Charleston Tree Lighting Ceremony

28th Annual Charleston Parade of Boats
Get on board with a Lowcountry holiday tradition as this display of lighted and festive boats proceeds through the Charleston Harbor, culminating in a brilliant reworks display. View the procession along Charleston’s waterfront or decorate your own boat Parade begins along Mt. Pleasant at 5pm; Viewing from the peninsula begins at 6:30pm; Fireworks begin at approximately 6:45pm

27th Annual Charleston Christmas Parade

The Charleston Christmas parade takes place downtown on Sunday, December 7: 2pm-5pm. The parade begins at the intersection of Calhoun and Meeting Streets, proceeds down King Street to Broad Street to Lockwood Blvd.

21st Annual City of Charleston Tree Lighting Ceremony

Kick of the holiday season with the Annual City of Charleston Tree Lighting Ceremony takes place on Saturday, December 6: 4:30pm-6pm in Marion Square, at King and Calhoun Streets. The Mayor Joseph P. Riley, Jr. and Santa Claus is going to light the big 60-foot Tree of Lights, the Christmas tree at Marion Square.
