Revolutionary War Lecture – Charleston, SC
Charleston Museum presents Revolutionary War Lecture – “Why they Fought.” To commemorate the 225th anniversary of the Treaty of Paris (1783), which ended the Revolutionary War, The Charleston Museum will present a three part lecture series on the effects of the war on Charleston and South Carolina. The lectures will be presented by Assistant Director and Revolutionary War historian Carl Borick. The final installment, “Why they fought,” appropriately on Veterans Day looks at the common soldiers of the Revolutionary War, their lives and experiences, and why they served in the American forces. This even twill take place on November 11th at 7 p.m. at the Charleston Museum. Admission is free.

Ilya Yakushev received his first prize-winning award at age 12 in his native St. Petersburg, Russia. His tours and performances have had international success. He won the World Piano Competition in 2005 and his performance with the San Francisco symphony was included in the top ten music events of the year in 2007. Since 2002, he has served as the Executive Director of the International Keyboard Institute and Festival in Mannes. Reservations suggested.
