Water Workshop Florida

May 20, 2008 by Susanne Talentino

I’m sure you’ve heard it before, but Florida is in trouble when it comes to water – and actually, this is not only a Florida problem. More than 50 percent of Florida’s residential water is used outside — to water the plants!

In Amelia Island Chamber of Commerce Newsletter we spotted this free workshop. If your want to find out more, and see how you can help – this might just be the opportunity you’ve been waiting for.

Learn all about low-impact development practices and how they can help save our water. The St. John’s River Water Management District and the Florida Department of Environmental Protection are sponsoring a FREE, day-long water workshop June 6 at FCCJ-Betty P. Cook Nassau Center.

Expert speakers will cover topics ranging from site design to the need for innovation. To register, e-mail llaroche@ufl.edu with “LID Workshop” in the subject line and include your name, affiliation and phone number or call 904-879-1019
