Shark Week at the South Carolina Aquarium – Charleston, SC

July 26, 2008 by Susanne Talentino

All things shark takes place during this week long celebration of Discovery Channel’s Shark Week with the South Carolina Aquarium. Families can discover the truth about sharks as they sit in on shark themed educational shows and interactive activities. Test your shark talent in the special interactive game show, Shark Bytes. Watch scuba divers swim with sharks in the Aquarium’s largest exhibit, the Great Ocean Tank. The Shark Week takes place July 27 – August 3, 2008.

Want to help care for a shark of your very own? Adopt and support the sand tiger shark at the Aquarium and receive a customized Shark Week adoption certificate and special gift!

Be sure to catch a special behind-the-scenes tour of the Great Ocean Tank on Tuesday, July 29 or Thursday, July 31 for an up close and personal look at the sharks in the aquariums 350,000 gallon exhibit.

The South Carolina Aquarium, Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) and the Discovery Channel will celebrate Shark Week July 27 – August 3. Shark Week activities are included with general admission to the Aquarium. Behind-the-scenes tours of the Great Ocean Tank are $10 per adult, $5 per child (ages 11 and under).
