Nature Detectives is our fun-tastic summer program for 4 to 9 year olds and adults at Tideland Nature Center on Jekyll Island. Children are introduced to basic science concepts with animals, natural objects, crafts, puppets, stories, songs and nature walks. Children are encouraged to become nature detectives - to observe, smell, feel, and listen to the natural environment in an effort to understand it. More importantly, they learn why they should respect nature and the simple steps they can take to preserve it. Classes meet for 1 hour each week.

Ages: 4-10 (Must be accompanied by an adult).

Time: 10:45am to 11:45am

Price: $5 per person - includes program, exhibit area, and craft

Join us for adventures with cold-blooded (ectothermic) friends. What’s the difference between an alligator and a crocodile, a toad and a frog? How many venomous snakes live in Georgia? Emphasis is placed on indigenous species of the southeast. Craft: Snake Bracelets
