A presentation on the plants, trees, shrubs, flowers and roots grown mainly in the Lowcountry will be given by Dr. Jeanne Audet on Aug 20th at 3 p.m. at the Coastal Discovery Museum at Honey Horn. A discussion will take place on how they were used as medicines by the Native Americans and those that still are used today in modern mainstream medicine. A brief history of the Native Americans in this area, and the pharmacopeia formed over the years and the role of the medicine man will be part of the presentation.
