Indians of the Estuary Kayak tour – St Augustine, FL

November 1, 2008 by etalentino

Paddle back in time and discover the life ways of the Timucuan Indians and their relationship to the land that they loved. Explore the estuary from Washington Oaks State Park with a professional naturalist and enjoy stories about the Timucuans and the important role the Matanzas Estuary played in their everyday lives. Along our journey, we will stop at an island refuge and visit a Timucuan encampment and learn more about their clothing, shelter, hunting and fishing techniques, tools, weapons and the native foods that helped sustain them. This tour is from 9 a.m. to noon and is $60 per person. This fee includes park admission, guided tour, catered lunch, and photos from the tour.
