Farmers Market North Charleston, SC

If you are looking for fresh vegetables or fruit, there’s no better place to go shopping than your local farmers market. Every Thursday the Farmers Market in North Charleston features fresh, locally grown produce, as well as herbs, jellies, jams and other delicacies.

The Farmers Market offers many special events including cooking demonstrations, nutrition classes and free health screenings. The Farmers Market also has a playground for the kids and fun activities such as face painting, pony rides, jump castle and much more. There are picnic tables in the shade available where you and your family can enjoy your meal. So plan for a Thursday at the market.

The Farmers Market North Charleston/Hanahan is open every Thursday from mid-April to mid-October from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m at Westvaco Park. It is located at the corner of Remount Road and North Rhett Avenue, convenient to I-526, Rivers Avenue, and I-26.

Family Golf Month at World Golf Village

St. Augustine, Fla. – Slammer & Squire and King & Bear at World Golf Village will offer an entire month of activities and offers focused on helping families enjoy the game of golf – together. Throughout July, the official golf courses of the World Golf Hall of Fame will host a series of programs for family members to learn the game and play golf with special contests, exclusive pricing just for families and more. Family Golf Month, open to any “household family,” will kick off Sunday, July 6.

Snapping Turtle Tonca’s Birthday – Jacksonville, Florida

Help MOSH (the Museum of Science and History, Jacksonville) throw a blow-out birthday bash for its beloved 110-pound alligator snapping turtle, Tonca. Activities, which will take place between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., include Tonca’s annual weigh-in, party games, and a birthday cake, of course!

Tour the Amelia Island Lighthouse – Fernandina, Florida

This is your chance to tour the lighthouse and see what it looks like on the inside. A shuttle leaves from the Fernandina Recreation Center on Atlantic Avenue and takes you directly to the lighthouse. But remember, you have to register in advance to participate.
