Jacksonville Film Festival at the Landing – Jacksonville, Florida

Jacksonville, Fla. (April 14, 2008) The Jacksonville Film Festival season will begin in style with a website launch and media kick-off celebration for the public this Friday, April 18, at The Jacksonville Landing.

“Gator Country” radio DJ Amadeus will preside over the evening’s festivities, which will begin promptly at 5:30pm and last until 7:30pm. After the unveiling of the festival’s new website, trailers and short films will be shown from nearly 30 of the films that have been confirmed. In the main courtyard, attendees will be treated to live performances by the bands “Str8 Up” and “Out Of Hand.” Signature “Film Festival Cocktails” will be available, courtesy of Bacardi and Grey Goose.

Georgia Cities Week Kickoff – St Marys, Georgia

During the week of April 20-26, St. Marys will join other cities across Georgia in celebrating Georgia Cities Week.  This week has been set aside to recognize the many services city governments provide and their contribution to a better quality of life in Georgia.  Our theme, “Living it Up Downtown!” pays tribute to the role cities play in contributing to Georgia’s quality of life.  The St. Marys celebration will kick off on April 19th with events in the Howard Gilman Waterfront Park with a display of city vehicles and equipment and a city wide clean up.  The day will conclude at dusk with an outdoor movie “Duma” at the stage in the park.  Come out and enjoy a family friendly day.  For more info call 912-882-8111.  www.stmarysdda.com

Theatre 99 Needs Your Help This Friday – Charleston, South Carolina
