Darius Rucker performs at St Augustine Amphitheatre

On October 29th, 2010, Darius Rucker is coming to St. Augustine, Florida for a concert at the Amphitheatre.

Darius become popular as the lead singer and rhythm guitarist of the rock band Hootie & the Blowfish. In 2008, Rucker began a solo career in country music. But now Darius is coming to St. Augustine for his own concert.

Crosby, Stills & Nash comes to Jacksonville, Florida

Crosby, Stills and Nash (CSN) is a folk rock group made up of David Crosby, Stephen Stills and Graham Nash. Maybe the group is even more known as Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young (CSNY) when joined by Neil Young.

All four members have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice. Now CSN comes to Jacksonville, Florida on September 25, 2010.

Things to do in Florida in September 2010

Festival season goes into swing as soon as life goes back to normal i.e. the kids go back to school. One of the busiest weekends is of course Labor Day Weekend (click here to read our previous post about Labor Day events in Florida). For the remainder of the month of September, here are a few ideas for things to do in Northeast Florida.

Cycling Festival – St. Augustine, Fl

Are you interested in finding a more planet friendly mode of transportation – or do you just like bicycles? If so, this is a festival you don’t want to miss. The Cycling Festival takes place on September 11 – 12, 2010, at St. Augustine Amphitheatre.

From bicycle touring to an exposition of bike vendors and food, this second annual event features North Florida Bicycle Club’s Endless Watermelon Ride; Vendors from local bicycle shops and bike manufacturers; Adult and Children’s Bicycle Safety Course; and performances by two live bands, Pili Pili and Trap Door.

This is the 3rd Florida Heritage Book Festival in the first city. If you are interested in writing or just love reading, this is a literary event for you. Best-sellers, writers’ workshops, authors in schools and Literary Legends are just some of the favorites of this preeminent event.

Get ready for a party after dark – or should we say at dusk? The Uptown Saturday Night is one of St. Augustine’s most popular recurring events taking place at the end of the month in San Marcos Shopping District. Antique stores, art galleries, and others remain open from 5 – 9 p.m.

Fall Festival and Events in Charleston 2010

Charleston, South Carolina , is the perfect place to visit for a weekend getaway. The beautiful city with its international flair and southern charm, makes it the perfect destination for a relaxing weekend. Charleston is also known for its many restaurant and renown chefs. The city even boosts to popular food festivals every year; BBT Wine & Food Festival in the spring and Taste of Charleston in the fall.

Take a horsedrawn carriage ride around the historic district, and let your guide tell you about the fascinating history of Charleston. When you have limited time to explore, a guided tour is well worth paying for. You’ll get a great overview and you’ll be able to easily figure out where you want to return to for more details. You might also want to stop by the visitor center downtown for maps, brochures and more details.

A Celebration of African-American and Caribbean Arts

Taste of Charleston
