Jacksonville Symphony Plays Elton John Music

Jeff Christmas, conductor is the conductor when your Jacksonville Symphony performs in a tribute to one of the dominant forces in rock and popular music. Hear some of Elton John’s greatest hits, such as “Bennie And The Jets,” “Rocket Man,” “Your Song,” and “Tiny Dancer,” with the exceptional voices of Jean Meilleur and the amazing piano work of John Regan, backed by the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra and Chorus.

Prior to the concert on Saturday, October 11, OPUS (the JSO’s young professionals group) will host a free pre-concert reception for members of OPUS, Up and Cummers, Jacksonville Scene and MOCA Contemporaries. Pre-concert reception will be held in the Davis Gallery at the Times Union Center and will include free beer and wine and appetizers for members and up to one guest. Others outside of this membership are welcome for a $5 charge.

The Night Ride by Bicycle – Jacksonville

The Night Ride is a Free day long celebration of the bicycle and it’s rider. All events are Free to all that attend and are held throughout Riverside and Five Points.

Jacksonville has never had a bike event like this. Bike Jax hope you and your family will make plans to attend this first of its kind groundbreaking event on October 11th throughout Five Points and Riverside.

Dogtoberfest in Jacksonville

Bring your dog to Metropolitan park to Trick or treat! Join the trick-or-treat walkathon, carnival midway, costume contest, K-9 demonstrations, vendors,and fun. Walk as an individual or form a “pack” and walk as a team. Dogtoberfest takes place on October 11th, from 9:00am – 2:00pm

39th Annual Golden Isles Fine Arts & Crafts Festival

Saturday, October 11, and Sunday, October 12, from 10am-5pm at St. Simons Village Park at the Casino. This year there will be 120 craftsmen and artists in attendance with several food vendors. Glynn Art will feature a children’s tent with face painting and easels for the children to paint their interpretation of the island.
