Kinderkonzerts: The Jammin’Town Musicians – Summerville, South Carolina

March 28, 2008 by Susanne Talentino

The Charleston Symphony Orchestra, and Resident Conductor Scott Terrell, will present this season’s popular Kinderkonzert, The Jammin’ Town Musicians. Two performances of this entertaining, child-friendly concert will take place at 10:00 and 11:30 AM.

Designed for young children, Kinderkonzerts are fun, casual concerts that expose kids to music in an entertaining way. Ten musicians from the Charleston Symphony and Scott Terrell will start off the morning with a quick ride through the Kabalevsky’s Commedian’s Galop. Children are encouraged to dance and enjoy themselves during Scott Joplin’s ever-popular Maple Leaf Rag. The feature presentation will be Edie Hill’s Jammin’ Town Musicians; a humorous musical journey adapted from the Brothers Grimm fairytale, The Bremen Town Musicians. Narrator Anthony Pierce will lead the audience in the story of a colorful group of animals that decide to leave their hometown to become musicians. Choose to attend this performance at either 10:00 AM or 11:30 AM. All Kinderkonzerts are free of charge.
