Get ready to party with a crowd! Lots of people will travel to the Myrtle Beach area for the Fourth of July weekend. Every little town has its own Independence Day celebration, festival, parade or even fireworks display. It’s the perfect place to visit for the family, you can relax on the beach during the day, and watch fireworks or catch a show at night.
You can watch fireworks from many of the beaches on the coast. Ask locals for the best places to park or to view fireworks. Here are a few suggestions for Myrtle Beach.
Also, don’t forget about the fly-over on Wednesday, July 4 at 1:00 pm. Air Force F-16 “Vipers†flown by 79th Fighter Squadron “The Flying Tigers†of the 20th Fighter Wing from Shaw Air Force Base in Sumter, SC have committed to execute a low altitude Flyover of the South Carolina coast. the 79th “Flying Tigers†were the very last of the armed forces to leave Iraq.
The non-profit organization Salute from the shore is helping organize the event. The goal is to get one million people on the beaches wearing waving red, white and blue. The Flyover will start at the North Carolina border at 1:00 PM, sharp. The planes will fly south in a single file, covering every beach in South Carolina and end at approximately 1:30 PM. Keep in mind that it only takes 30 minutes for the whole coast, so this is one time you don’t want to be late.

Broadway at the Beach will celebrate Independence Day with fireworks on July 4, 2012, at 10 pm.
July 4th Celebration – North Myrtle Beach
The Annual Fireworks display at The Cherry Grove Fishing Pier is scheduled for 9:30 pm on Wednesday, July 4, 2012. The pier is located at 3500 N. Ocean Blvd. in the Cherry Grove section of North Myrtle Beach. The Pier spans ¼ mile off of the coastal shore, adjacent to the Prince Resort.
