Coffeecake Challenge on Charlotte Street – St Augustine, Florida

St. Augustine, Florida (February 3, 2008) Many cherished coffeecake recipes and fond cooking memories are disappearing from the table of family and friends in America today. The Inn on Charlotte is hosting a Coffeecake Challenge recipe contest – with one Grand Prize – a 2-night luxurious stay at the Inn (circa 1918).

Lynne Fairfield, owner of the Inn on Charlotte, prepares a signature two-course breakfast daily, taking pride in the fresh fruits, grains and seasonal vegetables for her entrees. But it’s always the cake that wins her guests’ admiration and request for recipes. “Coffeecake is reminiscent of a time when the kitchen aromas from breakfast enticed a family to eat together; I remember weekends when baking was an activity that family and friends shared together”.

First Wednesday Art Walk – Jacksonville, Florida

The First Wednesday Art Walk in Downtown Jacksonville is a program developed and promoted by Downtown Vision, Inc. to bring citizens to the historical and cultural center of the city and to highlight Jacksonville’s deep pool of creative talent. There are several independent venues serving as galleries that feature local, original work. All locations are approximately within a 6 block radius of one another. A map of the galleries can be acquired at any of the venues, including MOCA Jacksonville, The Jacksonville Landing, and Art Walk Headquarters at 100 N. Laura Street.
